The "Hass Avocado" is the most widely consumed avocado in the world, known for its high yield and quality. It has a thick, leathery, bumpy skin that turns from dark green to nearly black when fully ripe. The fruit is prized for its rich, nutty flavor and creamy texture, as well as its ease of peeling and pit removal. Hass avocado trees begin to bear fruit in three to five years, have a long lifespan, and typically bloom twice a year. Uniquely, the fruit can be left on the tree for several months after maturing and only ripens once it has been picked. Nutritionally, the Hass variety is higher in fat, which contributes to its rich taste and creamy texture.
