The Escarlate is the cross between Red Hybrid jaboticaba and White jaboticaba. This makes for a very fast fruiting plant. Escarlate jaboticaba can be grown in a pot for many years.

The fruits have a vivid red-scarlet color, size about 2-2.5 cm in diameter at largest, juicy, and very sweet. The leaves are quite wide and relatively short (6-7 cm long x 5 cm wide), with ribs printed on the upper side. The tree is small and does great in containers. Bearing fruit several times a year, starting at 3 years of age. the scarlet jabuticaba surpasses the red jabuticaba in terms of color, flavor, and precocity.
